Job Description

Tommy O'Brien played Division I hockey at the University of Notre Dame from 2006-2010. While completing his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois, he founded OCS Goaltending, LLC with the intent of using analytics for competitive performance by designing simple and efficient practice programs for goaltenders. Tommy has worked (and continues to work) with a number of elite goaltenders.  While at the University of Illinois, Tommy was the Assistant Coach of the men's hockey team focusing on goaltender development.

An essential part of any goaltender's game is the ability to translate practice into in-game results. Our goal is to provide customized analysis and practice plans based on goaltender's performance as compared to his/her peers. In addition, part of this mentorship program is teaching goaltenders to understand their game from an analytics perspective and to become their own best coaching asset.

Season Mentorship includes:

1.      Bi-weekly phone calls

2.      Bi-weekly video review of the individual's game performance

3.      Monthly analytics review

4.      Monthly practice plan based on video/analytical review

5.      Optional in-person training/analytics review
